Nativity Prep Receives Historic $1 Million Gift from Paul and Linda McConnell
Nativity Preparatory School of Wilmington is proud to announce the largest gift in the school’s history, a $1 million commitment from Paul and Linda McConnell to strengthen Nativity Prep’s endowment and support the school’s long-term future.
The transformational gift represents a significant investment in Nativity’s mission and will help ensure that generations of young men continue to have access to the educational opportunities, relationships, and support that define the Nativity experience.
“Linda and I believe that Nativity Prep is an important asset in the Wilmington community, as proven by the success rate of the young men who have been accepted into prestigious secondary and college schools,” said Paul McConnell. “Every student, regardless of their financial circumstances, deserves the same educational opportunities. We want to ensure, together with other donors, that this opportunity continues for all future students.”
Strengthening Nativity Prep’s endowment is a critical part of the school’s vision for the future. A stronger endowment allows Nativity to meet the needs of students today while building the financial stability necessary to keep its mission accessible for generations to come.
The McConnells’ commitment will serve as a foundational investment in a broader effort to significantly grow Nativity Prep’s endowment. Their longstanding generosity and belief in the school have helped shape Nativity’s growth, making it especially fitting that they are helping lead this next chapter.
“This gift is about much more than an extraordinary financial commitment. It is a statement of belief in our young men, our mission, and Nativity’s future,” said Dr. Tony Alleyne, President of Nativity Prep. “We are incredibly grateful to Paul and Linda for their generosity and leadership. Their investment challenges all of us to think boldly about what it will take to ensure Nativity remains strong for the next generation and beyond.”
Nativity Prep looks forward to sharing more in the months ahead about its efforts to strengthen the school’s endowment and secure the long-term future of its mission.
